Last-Minute Halloween Yard Décor (and What's Next for Fall and Christmas)
Share
Halloween is close. If the yard still needs something that does not look like it came off a big-box endcap, you still have a few clean ways to finish it without racing the night of the 31st.
What works for a last-minute yard
Look for pieces you can plant and leave. Metal stakes, lanterns, and small porch accents are easier than anything that needs power, timers, or a truck bed full of foam props. Weathered metal and hand-finished concrete also read better up close than glossy plastic once trick-or-treaters are standing on your walk.
A few ideas from our shelves this week:
- Metal pumpkins, lanterns, bats, cats, and skeletons for the lawn or porch
- Glow pieces that do not need cords
- Smaller tabletop accents if you want the porch and the living room to match
Browse what is in stock in the Seasonal Collection. Inventory moves fast this close to Halloween, so order early. What shows in stock online is the best guide to what we have.
How to get it before Halloween
- Order online. Ship to your door, or ask about pickup when you check out.
- Book a pickup appointment. The Delavan farm is closed for the season for walk-in weekends, but we can still meet by appointment when we can make it work. Email us from the Contact page.
- Cambridge lumberyard. The indoor showroom at 34 Depot Rd (London Lumberyard) is by appointment. Halloween-week pickups are available there by appointment before the tentative showroom opening around November 7. Email us from the Contact page to set a time.
- See us at the Fort Fall Festival this Saturday. We will be a vendor on Saturday, October 24, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Barrie Park, 210 Robert St, Fort Atkinson. Admission is free, and the festival benefits the Randy Schopen Foundation. Come grab last-minute Halloween pieces and look over fall and Thanksgiving accents while you are there.
After Halloween: fall, Thanksgiving, then Christmas
You do not have to wait until the ghosts come down to plan the next porch. Many of the same materials carry forward: metal, concrete, terracotta, and small tabletop finds. After October 31 we lean into fall and Thanksgiving accents, then Christmas bells, trees, snowflakes, and winter porch pieces.
